Hey sluggers,

I was cast on an incubator team at the Playground, which is good for me, but it will unfortunately encroach on my Sunday nights. Its looking like well be rehearsing 8-10. Im hoping Lost Cat can find a time to rehearse before that so I dont need to be jettisoned from the group.

Could you each take 5 min to fill out this form:

Just put in your name and check off every box when you are available on Sundays. Hopefully well be able to find a time when we can all meet. If we cant, I may have to turn in my badge and gun (but I hope thats not the case)

-Ben

I think Sundays are the hot day to rehearse as the Rec League team I was just cast on at ComedySportz has picked that evening to rehearse as well. To the doodle poll!

Let me just throw it out there that I have to work on Saturday nights until 3am....so while I can technically meet in the mornings on Sundays, I would really prefer if it could be after 1 at the earliest.

Represent.
Poor people.

If you saw the poll, you realized that rehearsals on Sunday during the day would not be viable. I;ve edited the poll to be just Sunday nights, 7-Midnight. My rehearsal might be moved to Sunday mornings (awesome....) so I should be able to do Sunday nights with Lost Cat now. Jump in there again (same link: http://www.doodle.com/fshqsg63ytk7vyd7 ) and let;s see if Sunday evenings would be viable.

Dear pal,
I apologize in advance...I am starting my standup classes on Oct. 30th (?) Sunday nights 6-9, which is going to make this difficult. If you guys need to do this without me, I understand.

Your pal,
Pal.

Guys. We've figured out that Sunday nights work for everyone. Now there's a matter of finding a rehearsal space. Thoughts?

I have a completely empty room in my apartment. I think it was constructed to be a dining room, but we dine in front of the tv like real amuhricans, so it's just storing empty boxes and james' brewing equipment at the moment.  I would have to procure at least two lawn chairs so we have some sort of seating to work with, but I could manage that. Let me know!

Kelsey

PS. This place is bigger than my old apartment where we attempted to rehearse before.

Hey Guys,
Sorry about the delay on this. Saw Alex yesterday and he put me to shame when I realized I haven't even had the time to reply to him and let him know I got his response.
This is what he said re: coaching. He told me whoever got to coach us would be a very lucky coach indeed. I couldn't help but feel like he was breaking up with us with a "It's not you, it's me" speech (except I am sure he is being 100% earnest).

From Alex:
I am honored to be asked. I really wish I could. But I have recently just taken on a new job, and just got hired to perform some gigs that are going to be very time consuming. Also, admittedly, I would feel a little uncomfortable sliding into the coaching slot vacated by Thomas. I know there are no hard feelings between you guys and him. But it still would feel a little weird. That, and already stretching myself a little too thin... and I think I just can't do it. I'm sorry about that. I love Lost Cat! Seriously, I wish I could. I think your group dynamic is tight. Everyone has chops. And everyone is obviously committed to improv and to the team. You guys are lucky to have found an awesome independent passion project like this.

I will put my thinking cap on for a coach for you guys. The first names that spring to mind are Steve Nelson and Jillian Burfete. Both are very knowledgable and smart. Steve is probably more of a hard-ass. But again, both are amazing performers and teachers. Other than that, I will keep thinking...

Thank you again for asking. Please keep me posted on who you decide on and what's going on with the group.

I think it would be a good idea for us to do some more one-off coaching trials (have we talked to Thomas about this yet? I think it would be a good idea to inform him sooner rather than later). Alex admits that Jill is his girlfriend but a legitimate choice nonetheless. I've seen Steve in a couple of shows. I can keep asking around to see who else might be available for a one-off.

What do you guys think about this? I am also going to ask Alex to check in with Steve and Jill and see if Sunday nights work for either of them.

One day off every 14 days,
Kaylie

Kaylie, thanks for passing this along. I totally understand his point about feeling weird moving into the role after Thomas. I dropped the ball on talking to Thomas - I'm doing that tonight. We texted briefly last night and he admitted that he'd forgotten to follow up with me, too.

Beyond that, I need to take a break from Lost Cat. I have a little too much on my plate and don't think I can 100% commit to the group right now. I think I'd miss too many Sunday rehearsals as a result of another rehearsal on Sunday evenings, which I don't think is fair to the group.

Y'all are still the duck's nuts. I'll let you know what Thomas says.

Ashley
