HEY. YOU.

Things in a nice bulleted list:

  • We are still on for rehearsal this Thursday at Ben's place from 7:30-9:30 pm.
  • Kaylie is working hard to nail Bess down (or just to nail her, whatever works to get what we want) for this Thursday. Keep your fingers crossed. And! Thanks so much Kaylie for this!
  • Update on coaches - I've been in communication with a teacher from Second City named Nick Johne - he was my level 3 teacher for conservatory and I absolutely adored him. He says Thursdays starting at 8 pm work for him - now I'm trying to work out the rehearsal space idea (I understand Thorndale is a hard sell).
  • I'm working on the show run stuff - trying to figure out the best groups to get in touch with, etc.
  • I like odd numbers, so I needed a 5th bullet.
not sure where my bag of granola went,
ashley

We've got Thomas Whittington tonight at 7:30! Bess recommended him (he's on wonderbat). He's also attractive.

Bring 5 dollars! Let me know if you can't make it, puh-lease!

Hey guys, I just found out Today that tomorrow I will be evaluated for a job at the casino! (Not a lot of notice on their part) and today, I had a practice eval and I made some mistakes that I have to fix by tmrw. So I wish I could be there tonight, but if I want to have any chance at getting a job I have to spend all night practicing.

Sorry guys. I promise if I get the job ill take you all to the buffett.

Love you bunches,
Mike

I really like the idea of us being called Lost Cat and then we can make posters of a lost cat for our show posters.

JUST THROWING IT OUT THERE. If you don't like it, blame Tyler.

I thought he was nice and he was observant about our playing style, but I thought he was holding back on a lot of notes until the end. I thought the notes about bringing stronger emotions in and making more specific choices were good, but he didn't really talk about that until rehearsal was over. It would have been helpful for him to mention that stuff right away so we could work on it.
Granted it was his first time seeing us and he apparently had low expectations, but I wasn't in love with him. I feel like it might have been helpful if we had given him a rundown of what we had all been doing training-wise up to this point before we started.

That all being said, I was having a shitty day yesterday and my improv was awful...plus I am not a fan of isolated scenework except in a warming-up situation and I feel like we did that the whole time. So I'm a bitch? I don't know.

Sorry that was so long (which is what he said),
Kaylie

I liked Thomas. I wasn't over the moon about him, but I am over the moon about pinning down a coach, and I think he might do it.

Still waiting to hear back from Nick Johne, but would anyone be opposed to proposing to Thomas in the next couple weeks. It's a bit hasty, but we're more than 2 months in and less than 2 months out from our run, so I for one am eager to pin someone down, even if it's Dave Asher's mom.

Did you ask him if he is available for a committed coaching gig, or if he is potentially interested?
I think it would be fair to throw it out there so he has time to think about it.

I asked him just about Thursday - I think maybe if we definitely like him after this Thursday, we can throw out that possibility. I don't want to throw it out now and then be disappointed thursday. Thoughts? I'm happy to throw it out if you all think otherwise!

And up, 7:30 pm at Ben's!

In an unrelated story, Paul McCartney has announced a concert at Wrigley Field on July 31st (and possibly August 1st). WE SHOULD ALL GO TO THIS. AND BY GO TO THIS I MEAN HANG OUT ON MY PORCH AND LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE IT WILL BE VERY LOUD AND WE WILL HEAR IT CLEARLY WITHOUT PAYING ANY DOLLARS.

Oooh. Have you gotten your tickets yet? You are certainly welcome to come over and pre-game. Paul is actually my least favorite Beatle, so just hearing him for free will at least allow me to pretend he's not so old.

This is so exciting! ON A DIFFERENT NOTE:
Anyone interested in going to see LOTR: The Two Towers extended edition with me next Tuesday night in a movie theater? They are playing them over the course of three weeks and I would really like to see the second one in the theater.

LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT TO JOIN ME!!!

Cool. Could we take a vote on whether we are interested in the name "Lost Cat" for our team? I personally like it better than Maria's Dirtburgers (though they sound delicious) and think it could be a fun design for posters, etc.

Or do we want to talk about this in person?
