Chapter Two

teachers had fell in love with their own kind in school. Also, some
relationships are started with an arrow, going thru their heart, shot
by a baby named Cupid. Well, at least that's what some say. Others
say that it seemed it was already planned out, like it was meant to
be. Those 'meant to be-ers' are right, they got their work cut out
for them with the work of a heart named The Real Cupid. Ryan
Pethybridee was a junior at Gates Chili High School. He had brown,
long, curly hair and was really tall. His race was white. He was a
goth and didn't have many girlfriends because of his hair. Ashley was
a freshman at Gates Chili High School. She, also, was a goth.
Ashley, also, didn't have a boyfriend because she was quiet and also
because of the way she dressed. Ashley had a major crush on Ryan for
the longest time, but she did not have the guts to talk to him. She
said in her diary that she "haven't fall in love like this with a guy
she never knew" and Ryan later felt the same. They would be great for
each other, but Ryan's an ass whole when it comes to girls. The only
way to change that was to have him fall for someone instead. She
yearned for him, but he never came. No wonder they were called
crushes. It was exactly what Ashley was feeling. It was the first
week of school when Ashley saw Ryan, and Ashley was amazed at how that
first glace made her feel. But she didn't tell anybody until seven
months later, when she was writing her, "Me! See The Difference"
book. On one page, it said, "me seeing my friends first thing in the
morning," and she drew a stick figure of her saying "hi" to her
friends. On the page next to it said, "me seeing my crush first thing
in the morning" and she drew a quote bubble with the quote, "diarrhea,
diarrhea, diarrhea," (a quote that she overheard her Ryan say) with a
stick figure of her saying "too bad he's older, ha, ha, ha." She
wasn't done with the book, but she decided to show the finished part
to her friend, Beth Schiffhauer, on the way home from school. It
turned out that Beth had known that Ashley liked Ryan all along. One
of Beth's friends, Roger Hacket, tried to hook the two of them up.
Beth had been in the hospital earlier that year for about a month, so
Ashley and Beth were writing notes back and forth. Ashley gave Beth
her phone number in a letter. Ryan and Beth were in the same lunch,
so Beth wrote Ryan a note, containing Ashley's phone number.
The note asked Ryan to call Ashley that night, which he did. They
talked for nearly an hour. At one point, Ryan asked Ashley if she
liked him. Ashley doubted it, not wanting Ryan to know that she
really did like him. She thought that guys were ass wholes when it
came to girls and crushes, and she was right. Ryan later called Roger
and told him that Ashley did not like him. Roger said that Ashley
actually did like him, and Ryan became pissed. Ashley found out that
Ryan was pissed at her when Beth mentioned it one day. Ashley was
still scared to talk to Ryan in person though, even though he said not
to be scared, that he wasn't that scary. But Beth didn't realize how
scared Ashley was. Beth tried and tried to make Ashley talk to Ryan,
progressing Ashley to even blackmailing, saying that Beth was pissing
both, Ashley and Ryan, off. Beth eventually gave up, and Ashley was
still determined to not talk to Ryan, as proven by a blog entry on
Myspace:
"I just can't take it anymore. I can't talk to him! All his friends
are pissed at me and he is, too. Heather is pissed because she thinks
I'm stalking her because she knows him. It's not true. It just so
happens that I see her a lot. The friends that know about me liking
him are like: "Just call him. I would if he was my crush. Plus
anyways, you guys look good together." I don't give a shit. I'm not
like all of you. If I like somebody, oh well, I'm only going to see
him/her for ten months. You won't die if you don't go out with the
person that you like. I just want to live my love life the way I want
to. I'm nervous to talk to him. So what, that doesn't mean to stick
your fat ass into it. Maybe I don't want to date him. It's just a
stupid crush. I don't even know why I've told Beth that I liked him.
Yeah, she did make him call me, but now he's pissed because I won't
tell him that I like him. So what I didn't tell him, it's not like I
want to date him. I'm just not that into him. I might look at him,
that doesn't mean that I still like him........."
That October
Another school year, another heart broken. Ashley and Ryan did not
talk until Ashley got the courage to IM Ryan that September. But that
didn't affect the relationship as much as what happened on myspace
did. Ashley found out that Ryan has a girlfriend that lived in
Spencerport. Since Ashley didn't have any way to get over to
Spencerport and beat Ryan's girlfriend's ass, she left comment saying
'bitch' on his girlfriend's myspace, and then blocked her. Ryan only
found out when Kasey, his girlfriend, mentioned it to him. He wasn't
too fond about it, so one school day; he went up to Ashley and started
yelling at her.
"What do you think you're doing?" Ryan asked.
"Me? You're the one being the idiot." She answered.
"Hey, at least I'm not the one that posts 'bitch' as a comments to
someone you don't know." he snotted.
"And at least I'm not the one that is pissed at people for no fucking
reason." She said.
"What do you mean by that?" he questioned.
"You're the one that won't give me a chance because I won't tell you
that I like you." she answered.
"Do you like me?" he questioned.
"Yeah." she admitted.
"Why didn't you tell me this before?" he again questioned.
"Because guys are asses when it comes to girls and crushes." she
replied.
"Well, girls get obsessed with guys." he remarked.
"And that's why I was afraid to tell you. Guys would just assume
things about a girl and that's how they make their decision. See, I'm
not like that. It takes me a long time to get obsessed with someone.
Guys just can't see that in a girl." she snotted.
Ashley turned, and walked away, not knowing what disaster was about to
strike. Somehow, someone had lit part of the school on fire. With
fire alarms ringing everywhere, the building was immediately
evacuated, trying to get everyone to safety. But looking around,
Ashley didn't see Ryan, and Ashley knew Ryan was still inside. Ashley
dashed back inside, frantically trying to find Ryan before they both
died there. She finally found him, and showed him how to get out, but
it was too late for her. As she tried to follow him, a huge ceiling
tile, engulfed in flames, fell from the ceiling and hit her. She fell
face down, and knew there was no hope. She struggled feebly to get
up, not wanting to give up, but soon, she collapsed on the hot
carpet. Soon, firefighters arrived, and got her out of the building
before it completely caved in. An ambulance rushed her to the
hospital, and the medical staff used every innovation they could to
try to save her. Luckily, they were able to save her. No one was
able to ask Ashley why she went back into the building for a week
because Ashley was sleeping off the medicine for a week.
When Ashley woke up, her father greeted her with a hug. Ashley was
still really sore from the burns, so she couldn't hug her father has
hard as her father hugged her. Ashley's school was out for month for
construction because of the fire. No one knew who tried to burned
down the school. The school also sent home letters to the student's
parents explaining that there was a fire in the school and also
explaining Ashley's condition. Donations were made for her health my
mail. Or whoever knew Ryan gave him their donations and Ryan would
bring them to the hospital when he visited Ashley. Ryan had broke up
with Kasey after he found out that Ashley practically gave up her life
for his. Ashley was surprised that Ryan kept on visiting her day
after day until she had the ability to leave the hospital. It wasn't
until June of the next year when Ashley was finally released from the
hospital, but that didn't stop Ryan and Ashley from dating. Without
her father knowing, Ryan asked Ashley out on Valentine's Day and, of
course, Ashley said yes. After Ashley left the hospital, she would
sneak out of the house just to see Ryan because she was afraid that
her father wouldn't approve.
One Year Anniversary
Ryan and Ashley never kissed until their one year anniversary of
dating. Ryan was in the hospital because he couldn't take the pain
that Ashley supposedly had given him. One of Ashley's friends was
pretty evil. He wanted to end Ashley's and Ryan's relationship, so he
told Ryan that Ashley was cheating on him with another guy. He also
told Ryan that Ashley doesn't love him and she never did. All she
wanted him for was for his sex. But that was wrong.
It was Ryan's and Ashley's one year anniversary of dating and Ryan was
in the hospital. Ashley was at school, Ashley's evil friend, Kenny
Simpson, was also at school and Ryan's older brother was also at
school, looking for Ashley. Ashley already knew that Ryan was in the
hospital because Ryan's father called her on her cell phone and yelled
at her for putting Ryan in the hospital. Ryan's parent's also never
knew that Ryan was dating Ashley. Eric, Ryan's older brother, and
Kenny was in the hall when Eric stopped Kenny to ask him if Ashley
said anymore things about Ryan. While Kenny was answering Eric,
Ashley became behind Kenny and grabbed him by his arm. She twisted
his arm and pushed him against the lockers.
"What the hell are you saying?" yelled Ashley.
"N-N-Nothing." mumbled Kenny.
Ashley slammed Kenny against the lockers again and twisted his arm
farther.
"Listen, don't get in the way of our relationship. I did nothing to
you. So, why the hell are you doing something to me? You know I'm in
love with Ryan and would never date anyone else, even for their sex.
I would never do that to Ryan. And I'm not dating him for his sex,
I'm dating him for his personality. Me and Ryan had never even
kissed, so why would we have sex? Why did you do something like
this?"
"Because I wanted to."
Ashley twisted Kenny's arm until she heard every bone in Kenny's arm
crack. She then released Kenny and stepped back. Kenny fell to the
ground, in pain. Ashley went over to Eric.
"All the things he said was a lie. I would never do a thing like
that. I love Ryan." said Ashley.
"I can tell." said Eric. "Let's go to the hospital before my brother
dies."
Ashley and Eric ran off and drove to the hospital. There, Ashley
rushed in and ran to Ryan. She opened the door of Ryan's hospital
room and turn the corner of the bathroom. There, Ashley saw Ryan with
his father. Ryan's father got up from the chair in which he was
sitting in and walked over to Ashley, stuck his face in Ashley's face
and breathed out.
"So, you must be Ashley." Ryan's father said.
"Yes." Ashley responded.
"Do you know why my youngest son is the hospital?"
"No."
"My youngest son is in the hospital because of you cheating-"
"It wasn't me," Ashley said, cutting off Ryan's father. "It was this
person that I knew that told Ryan that I was cheating on him, but I
wasn't. I love him too much to do such a thing."
"I don't believe you."
"It's true," said Eric, in the door way. "the guy that Ashley was
talking about, he lied."
"How would you know?" asked Ryan's father, walking over to Eric.
Eric and his father somehow got out of Ryan's room and went to the
waiting room. When no one but just Ashley and Ryan was in the
hospital room, Ashley ran to Ryan.
"I'm so sorry, I would never do such a thing and you know that."
Ryan put his finger over Ashley's mouth so that Ashley wouldn't talk
no more. Ashley stopped talking because she would do anything to get
Ryan's love back.
"You really do love me, you really do!" said Ryan, with excitement.
Ashley nods her head, with a tear in her eye.
"Ashley, please don't cry, you're gonna make me cry." said Ryan.
"I'm not crying." said Ashley.
"Then what's this?" Ryan said, taking the tear from Ashley's eye.
"I don't know."
Then there was a pause.
"I love you." both Ashley and Ryan said at the same time.
Ashley and Ryan both looked into each others eyes, then leaned into
each other, and kissed.
"Wow!" said Ryan.
"Yeah, I know." said Ashley.
"I want to have my first everything with you."
"What?"
"I had my first kiss with you just a minute ago and I've just decided
that I wanted to have my first everything with you. I want to have my
first make-out session with you, my first marriage to you, my first
child with you. I want to spend my whole life with you!"
They kissed again.
"Two," Ryan said.
They kissed again.
"Three," said Ryan.
Again, Ryan and Ashley kiss.
"Four," said Ryan.
Ryan and Ashley looked into each others eyes.
"One more?" asked Ryan.
"Sure." answered Ashley.
And of course, Ashley and Ryan kiss, for the fifth time.
"Five." said Ryan.
Ashley and Ryan looked into each other's eyes, once again.
"Can you walk?" asked Ashley.
"I believe so." said Ryan.
Ryan pulls himself up while Ashley helped him to stand up. Ashley
helped Ryan to take a few steps, and then let go. Ryan then walked
off on his own and turns around. Ashley ran to him and they kissed.
"Let me change, and then we could leave, okay?" said Ryan.
"Okay." Ashley said.
Ryan goes into the bathroom and changes into his everyday cloths.
Ryan then comes out and throws the hospital dress on the bed and
walked next to Ashley. They held hands, smiled, and walked out the
door. Ryan's father saw the never-before-seen smile on his offspring
face. He then had second thoughts on dating.
Months went by, Ryan and Ashley were still dating and everything was
going great. Ashley sleeps over to her grandmothers house to visit
about once a month. It was long enough for Kenny to recover from the
damage that Ashley had done and wanted revenge. Ryan knew that Kenny
wanted revenge and kept an eye on Ashley's house every so often during
the night. Ashley was over her grandmothers house when Kenny got his
revenge. He walked from Chili to Hilton just to burn down Ashley's
grandmother's house. That night, Ryan also was watching the house.
Once Kenny got at Ashley's grandmother's house, he brought out a
lighter and set the house on fire. Ryan saw what Kenny did and called
the police. Kenny moved from one place to another to spread the
fire. Once the fire got big enough, Kenny ran away and Ryan ran in.
The only good place for Ryan to get thru was thru a window that was
half burning. The house was just about to crumble and Ashley was
still sleeping. Once Ryan got in the house, he grabbed Ashley and her
MP3 player and ran off. He walked to his house with Ashley in his
arms and sent her down in a bed. He flipped the covers over Ashley
and sat next to her, holding her hand until she had woken up. Ashley
finally woke up the next morning.
