Started putting together a tutorial for the game. This first level is still pretty rough around the ages, and literally takes maybe a minute to play to completion, but I thought I'd make it available for people on this list anyway, in case anyone happened to get any good ideas from it. (Related to the interface, or the story, or anything.) No point in sharing it more publicly yet, though.
Notes:
- Not entirely happy with what feels like a huge infodump right in the beginning - would like to make things a bit more gradual. Still, it's a start.
- The level should be playable even if you happen to be red-green colorblind, but you may lose some information. Sorry about that, at some point I'll add an option to pick your own colors instead of the traditional "green = true, red = false" mapping.
- There's a minor bug at one point, where you are supposed to hit space to continue, but pressing space doesn't actually do anything. In that case, click on the text field to bring it back to focus, and space should work again.
- When the text field displays "level complete!", you're done. (On my todo-list: add a dialog box allowing you to replay the level or continue. Also on my todo-list: make the next level, so that there is actually someplace to continue to...)
