Do you think we could put tiger barbs in with our soon to be "red texas flowerhorn" successfully?  Successfully meaning both barbs and flowerhorn survive the ordeal without to much stress or nipped finnage.  Tank will be a 56 gallon, flowerhorn is currently about 4 inches long (body length).

I wouldn't try it. I don't think there will be a stress problem since
flowerhorns can take care of themselves, but I'd be afraid his pretty
fin extensions would get nipped off. What about rosy barbs or congo
tetras?

That was what I was worrying about too, his fins:(  I will see if Julie likes either rosy barbs or congos.  We were going to go with the green (black with a green tint) tiger barbs.  Julie doesn't really like red fish so I don't know if she would go for the rosy barbs.

OK....I'm curious....what is wrong with red fish?????? My cherry barbs
are stunning... BTW I don't remember my Rosy Barbs being that red -
more a pinkish tinge.....

Julie just doesn't like the color red ::shrugs::  I think it has to do with santa clause and clowns . . . not really sure, I never went into an in depth discussion on it.  I just know not to bring anything red home, as it won't be staying for very long.  My harlequin rasboras are almost to close, but I convinced her that they are copper colored.

Jose is pink, not red:)  She is fine with pink, not with red.  I don't ask questions, I just nod my head and smile.  It makes my life easier.  Gold barbs are a good idea, I like gold barbs. (I love cherry barbs too Gill, I have nothing against them, infact I set up a display tank at work full of them since I don't get to have them here).
