Yarn production based on production run

Is it correct to use contraction factor to determine the actual length to key in to the yarn spinner if I wanted to produce yarn of a specified length. E.g. Contraction factor = 1.3?

Machine input =400m

Corrected input =400 x 1.3 = 520m
Meaning, to spin 400m, we need to correct the output to 520m.
