Hong Kong: White Truffle Banquet

A 26-ounce white truffle from Alba in Italy's Piedmont region that was
sold at a charity auction over the weekend to three Hong Kong property
developers for a record $208,000 will be served at a private dinner in
Hong Kong on Sunday. A scarcity of white truffles in northern Italy
this season has driven prices up.

I just can't understand why truffles have to cost so much. Tyler
Florence (Food Network) was in Italy truffle hunting. Interesting,
could be deadly, but still $ 200K.

I'd like to know the menu for that private dinner.

What would I make? Not so sure. Any ideas?

It's so hard Min, to keep things anonymous these days.

There are people who have killed each other of the secrecy of truffle
locations... its part money and part mystery.
