Rolling Along - Side by Side

 Greetings one and all:

     Well now that the election is all over and life can get back to normal - I hope everyone is happy with the results.

 

I finished the painting from my last post and it is now hanging in the gallery down town side by side with the first one.  I am posting both of them here as they are companion pieces and are really meant to be viewed together.

 You will notice a few alterations in the painting from the last post - first and foremost, I removed the second horizontal branch.  It bothered me for some reason so I just painted it out and really feel that improved the overall composition.  Everything I am learning about landscape painting keeps stressing "simplify, simplify, simplify"  so that is what I was striving for - I wanted to give the impression of a lush overgrown forest yet do it without bogging the viewer down with too many details.  Both paintings are 36 x 24 inches and are for sale for $450.00 each.
