A Big One and A Little One - and a question

What a beautiful summer we are having in Maine this year! I hope all is well with everyone.
Lots of news to report but first let me show you one of my "Do Overs"
This small painting was painted over a previous one that was just beyond hope - such is the fate of a good many of my paintings. They might start out really good but the more I struggle with it, the more ugly they become. After days of trying to resuscitate it, I usually just give up and paint over it in a solid dark color. Such is the history of this one. Since I had painted over the previous painting in dark blue, I thought I would try a night scene with one of my favorite posed models. I think this one will be a keeper!
The second painting is a large one and is in the very early stages. In fact, I will be taking it to the Lyman painting group shortly, where I will spend the afternoon working on it. Next time I post the newsletter, you will see it a bit further developed (unless I have covered it with dark blue paint).
