Greetings Gentle Ones:
We are being inundated with rain up here in Maine - I need some warm sunshine!
I have just finished this 12x24 oil painting using one of our new models at the Live Model Sketch Group.
I purposely kept everything very loose brushstrokes except for the face - the face I painted in great detail because it is the focal point.
A poem goes along with this painting - (taken from "Silence" by S. Miller Hageman, 1876)
Fall around me feathery silence,
Fall around me as I faint,
Heaven's casement-curtains closing softly
Round the dying saint:
Shades of faintness coming o're me,
As Death's iron gates unroll,
Not the famine in my face,
But with the harvest in my soul.
A Warm Thank You to returning collectors Gayle from Ohio and Stephanie from Oregon who purchased new paintings from eBay.
Until next time - pray for sunshine! -
