Holiday Greetings Everyone!
I hope that this newsletter finds everyone in a warm home, full of family, friends and food for the holidays.
My little heart is excited because we are expecting some now tonight (I have my fingers crossed). Northern Maine has had quite a bit, but down here in Southern Maine - the flakes have been few and far between.
I am posting two photos today - both are landscapes and done in a very loose technique. In fact, it seems that my landscapes are getting looser and looser - that's a good thing right? At least that is what everyone tells me. These two forest scenes below have just been posted for sale on ebay too.
Something that I have noticed lately, as far as my sales go, is that nocturnal scenes seem to be growing more popular. Two of mine have sold in the last month, which sort of surprised me. So perhaps that is an avenue I should explore. Night scenes are very difficult to do successfully because the moon light really changes the color of the landscape - but there is something very peaceful about them, don't you think? Unfortunately, I failed to take a picture of the night scene that sold most recently - the other one that sold was posted on this newsletter a few months ago.
I want to thank everyone who has visited my two blogs and left comments- hopefully they have brought comfort or questions to your mind. My latest blog entry at
http://mainelymary/blogspot.com brings up the irony of life when comparing two greats in the field of art. And my other blog
http://thehavenofrest.blogspot.com talks about the earliest Humane Society.
I wish you all the very Merriest of Christmases - and remember our most treasured gifts are right under our own roofs.
Mary
