Queer Dance Workshop with Maggie Cee and Jo Troll
https://jotroll.wordpress.com/queer-dance-workshops/
Queer Ballet  is for LGBTQIA+ teens and adults, regardless of gender, body type, fitness level, or experience. Whether you want to re-live childhood hours spent at the barre or are interested in exploring this dance form for the first time, this is your invitation to experience ballet in a fun, non-judgmental environment. Despite the strictures that are sometimes drawn around this art form, we can reclaim it and make it our own, discovering the subversive potential of movement. This workshop includes basic ballet terminology, gentle stretches, an introduction to proper alignment and lots of joyous movement.  Comfortable clothing and bare feet, socks or soft dance shoes are recommended.
Saturday, May 18 2:00-4:00 PM Kieran Jordan Dance Studio 1310 Hyde Park Ave. Hyde Park, Boston

  • Increased accessibility measures

  • Affordable ticket and workshop prices

Any additional funds raised will go to future programming including:

  • Creating a paid steering committee and board of diverse artists to curate future festivals

Solo show My solo show, "Ladies at a Gay Girl's Bar, 1938-1969" is fully in development with my wonderful director and coach. I'll share two different new excerpts at The Femme Show and Dancing Queerly, and then the first ever full version premiers at the Rhode Island Fringe Festival in July. I've really delved into my four characters and now I'm digging into figuring out how my story and your stories fit in. I'm excited to hear what you think after the Femme Show or Dancing Queerly!

(*Maybe the interactive email list is going to come back too, like when I was a very active member of the Dar Williams list serve in 1997?)
