Wayne
I cannot respond on behalf of members, however I will certainly
respond on behalf of the new committee.
Although I do appreciate your enthusiasm and commitment as a member
(especially given your current work commitments), I do not appreciate
your comments regarding the new committee being apathetic. We have
only just had our first meeting this morning and leading up to that
meeting, a few of us have been meeting and discussing pressing issues
and our dedication to actioning them in the days between the AGM last
Wednesday when we were elected and our first meeting today - 7 days!!
Dare I say it, but I think that this new committee as well as the past
business owners forums (which a couple of previous executive committee
members branded a waste of time and a splinter group) has shown more
enthusiasm and achieved more as far as generating new memberships, and
uniting the business community in the past 7 days than the last
committee did in the past 12 months.
As a member I would hope that you haven't lost faith in the new
committee's commitment to revitalising this town. We do take on board
your comments regarding TCM and we know we have a lot of work to do in
a very short space of time, however please show us a little patience
and let us get on with familiarising ourselves with our new
responsibilities, and in turn we will prove to our membership that
their support isn't in vain.
