Hello all,

just thought I would make a small observation... I think...

You might ask yourself where in the Old Testament is there a picture of the Godhead, all three? As it turns out both occurrences that I know of are actually brought out by the same New Testament writer, John.

The first OT occurrence is in Genesis 1 which John highlights in John 1 while the second is in Daniel 7 which John highlights in Revelation 1. I think we all know the passages... (I have placed in bold the members of the Godhead in both NT and OT passages and underlined parrallel themes)

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
Genesis 1:1-4

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. ... And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
John 1:1-5,33

Note:
And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him
Matthew 3:16

I beheld till the thrones were cast down [set up], and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened. . . . I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
Daniel 7:9-10,13-14

John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; And from Jesus Christ [the Son of Man], who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, and hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father [to serve him]; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
Revelation 1:4-7

Note:
Jesus' prefered title for himself is ?the Son of Man? which he uses 30 times in the Gospel according to Matthew alone. See Matthew 8:20; 9:6; 10:23; 11:19; 12:8,32,40; 13:37,41; 16:13,27,28; 17:9,12,22; 18:11; 19:28; 20:18,28; 24:27,30(2),37,39,44; 25:13,31; 26:2,24,45,64.

God bless,

James

Hey James,
You were missed last night brother! I was working on a study of this same passage a couple of months back and here is what I found:
All 3 were perfect/upright (in one sense or another)
"9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and *perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God."(Gen 6:9)
"4 Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him."(Dan 6:4)
"1 ¶ There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil."(Job 1:1)

All 3 in their names reflect some SDA doctrines:
Noah = Rest = Sabbath/Righteousness by Faith
Daniel = God is my Judge = Sanctuary Message
Job = He that weeps = Have hatred for sin (connected with Ezekiel 9:4?)

Please pray for HIM as we're trying to straighten things out with the conference as we speak... We must meet soon too...
God Bless,
Nwamiko M.
