Hi James and everybody,

you asked for our notes in advanced. Here's what I found interesting about Daniel 3. I don't know if this is gonna be new to any of you, but it was my first time noticing that.

The demand from the king to bow down before the statue is an attack to God's first and second commandent. Exo 20:3-6. And if you refuse to do what is asked, you are sent into a furnase of fire.

Here are the three angels' messages:

1st message: "Fear God and, give glory to Him; for the hour of His judgment is come: and worship Him that made..." (verse 7)

2nd message: "Babylone is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication." (verse 8)
(Dan 3:4,5 : To you it is commanded, O people, nations and languages, that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet ..., ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up." If not, thrown in fire.)
Who will be thrown in fire in the end if they don't worship God?

3rd message: "If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark on his forehead, or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of His indignation, and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb." (verses 9,10)

We know that God's people will be called to worship the beast and his image and that if they don't, they will be facing death. However, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego were protected, just like the Bible gives us the promise that God will be with us through all trials and tribulation. The three boys were not consumed...
The study is not complete, but it might be a start.

Have a blessed day and a blessed Sabbath to those I will not have the pleasure to see tomorrow.

Michele

Hey Everyone, James

Another part in the book of Daniel that caught my attention is Dan.6. In that chapter Babylon is overthrown by the Medo-Persians, led by Darius.

To make a long story short, there was a law that Darius approved that if anyone was to pray to any god except to himself, they will be thrown to the Lions. We all know how the story goes, but I want to point out verse 10.

Once again, we see that the law that was approved by Darius...attacks God's 1 & 2 commendement. Daniel which demonstrates vibrant faith, disregarded the law of men, to obey the law of God. Moreover, He prayed three times a day(I pray in the mornng and at night...and i should be talking to God more often). Which means that he did it more than once...it was consistant prayer of thanksgiving.

When we ask the Lord for something, or we really really really really need him. How much and how often do we pray (in secrect that is)? and in our hearts, how fervant is our praise to Him that kept us from falling? Are consistant when it comes to our prayer life?......
Don't get me started....lol

Just a thought from my studies.
Rey
