Twitter, time waster or time saver?

Many people that know me also knows that Twitter is something I feel
very passionate about. I once saw it as a complete and utter waste of
time. Fortunately I had to change my story very quickly when I started
using it as a marketing tool and not just social media. Suddenly my
follower base started growing overnight with more than a hundred
followers a day. I used to get 10 - 15 SEO type followers to my site a
day and that almost changed overnight up to 400 clicks a day!

Twitter marketing suddenly became a BIG exciting reality with
limitless possibilities. The world was my oyster and I just needed to
figure out how to tap into its potential. Unfortunately this is also
the stage where I stated going wrong and instead of spending 20
minutes a day on Twitter I ended up doing 3 - 5 hours! Twitter Hours =
money hours and I was in a viscious downward spiral. Twitter has
become a social network trap and I had to completely refocus to get my
marketting strategy back on line.

But, I am going to continue this topic some other time. The moral of
today's story. Be carefull how you spend your time "marketing" on
social websites. What started as a hobby can get very expensive
through wasted time very quickly and your new business can go under
faster than the Titanic.
