Excellency,
Per your request I have ridden to the West to investigate reports of
both an undead army and of advances by the Celestial Kingdom versus our
fair home. While I have found both, a much more urgent situation has
come to my attention.
Sunday, after your grand tournament, I rode out with a small escort to
the Northwest. Given the late hour we did not clear the forests before
it was time to rest. Dismounting we made camp. Setting watches we
bedded down early in hopes of an early start.
We, instead, were awakened not long before moon rise by horrific
screams. Racing towards the source we saw a shadowy form rending a
recently slain deer with horrific claws. At least as large as a pony
this creature had wings and huge claws. One of my archers fired and
may have wounded it.
Our mission to the border was too important to delay but I urge you to
muster the militia and track down this vile beast to protect our homes.
