Greetings Davis cousins!
I found some new information on Susan Davis (1862-1944).
When we last left Susan, we knew that she married James “Indian Jim” Pabuhmosh in 1919.
I did a search on FamilySearch.org and came up with an interesting find. (I did a search for any children born in Michigan whose parents were John Davis and Mary Walters.)
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/KF74-BG8
The record shows Susan’s last name as “Pebblemarsh” which must be a phonetic spelling for Pabuhmosh. It also shows that she was born in Kochville in 1852. I believe the year of birth is incorrect. I have since found two census records for Susan, 1930 and 1940. She is seriously confused about how old she is. On the 1930 census, her birth year is 1870 and on the 1940 census her birth year is 1863. If this is our Susan, and her parents are John Davis and Mary Walters, the birth year has to be closer to 1862.
In addition, I found this website and Susan is listed as Susan Davis Pebblemarsh. And, I have sent away for an obituary.

This is my updated Ancestry tree for Susan:

Now the big find, I received the obituary today (see attached).
I think her age is also incorrect in the obituary, for the same reason I alluded to above. It lists her niece, Mrs. William Stevenson, who is Mary Helen Drew, daughter of Mary Etta Davis and Joseph Drew.
But what is really interesting, and whether it is true or not, it says …
“… daughter of John Davis, one of the seven Davis brothers from Ireland who settled Saginaw County”.
