What would you all think of hiring someone to do some research who lives in Genesee/Livingston County New York area? Just a thought as we seem to be butting our heads against the wall with the available databases. Maybe a local would have access to new information or information not online.

It seems that enough people are interested in contributing that we can move forward with contacting the genealogist.  Before I do, I was hoping we could all brainstorm a list of specific questions to be asked so everyone has input on it.  We will order them from most important to "if you have time."  We also want to give her as much information as possible so she doesn't waste any time looking for stuff we already have concrete proof of.

Here are a few questions I was thinking.

Probably the most important: Are John Davis, Jeremiah Davis, George Davis, William Davis, Sarah Davis, Aaron Davis, Charlotte Davis, Levi Davis and Richard Davis the children of Jeremiah Davis and Charity Drew?  If not, then who?

Is the Jeremiah Davis who was married on 15 May 1808 in Corinth, Orange County, Vermont, to Charity Drew the same Jeremiah Davis who shows up in the 1820 Census for Mount Morris, Genessee County, New York?

Of special interest to Laura and I: When did John Davis marry Nancy Davis?  Where they ever married?

What happened to Jeremiah Davis or Charity Drew after the 1840 Census for Leicester, Livingston County, New York?

Are there any children we don't know of?

Please let me know if you can think of any more!

Just a couple of facts that I would like to have the genealogist determine:

1.  Marriage date of Jeremiah Davis to Elizabeth (or Anna Elizabeth) Holtslander and marriages for any of the other assumed children of Jeremiah Davis and Charity Drew.

2.  Any grandchildren of Jeremiah Davis and Charity Drew that may have been born and/or died in Livingston County before the parents relocated to Michigan.
