Cemetery Listing for Forest Lawn Cemetery, Tower, Cheboygan, Michigan
 
I found the following link today:
 
 
I optimized the file for OCR character recognition, so it is easier to do a sort (see attached file).
 
What is interesting is that Mary Whitman Davis is buried with the Walters family.
 
WALTERS Come unto me
MARY (P.) DAVIS /d/ Sept 22,  1903/aged/97 years
EDMUND WALTER 1871-1960           RAYMOND WALTERS died 1957
 
George Walter is at the end of the list and is in an unmarked grave. (George was married to Lovina Davis, daughter of William and Mary Whitman Davis)

This is interesting, Laura.  The burial place makes sense as I found her living in Warner Township, Antrim, Michigan in the 1900 census and that information appears correct.  She is living in the household of Edwin B Davis, her son.  Either the census data is not correct for her birth year, or the cemetery.  The census has it as May 1825, but the cemetery information would place her birth in 1806.  Hard to believe that she would have been that much younger than William Davis, nor had her last child, Julia, at age 52.  But, I guess that it is possible.  Maybe the transcripton is not correct for the cemetery and it should be age 77 instead of 97? Still would not be quite correct if she in fact was born in May of 1825 as the death is September of 1903, so she would have been 78.  Just musing on this information.  But, definitely great work on tracking this down!
