to The Dalles Lions Club
Hello fellow Lions!

We will be meeting at noon on Tuesday, at Spooky's,  as we normally do this week. This week's guest speaker will be Debbie Cantrell from the Oregon Veteran's Home. A big thanks to Lion Mark Kendrick for arranging our guest speakers. Lion Jann Oldenburg will also be speaking briefly about an amazing project the Fort Dalles Museum is working on in regards to restoration of a flag from 1868.

For those Lions who were unable to attend the end of year social last week, we inducted the new members, officers, and positions. Lion Jim Wilcox did, as always, a great job inducting our new members and reminding our current membership that we are indeed the most fun Lions Club in the district. New Member Patti Blagg also did a great job running a raffle and earning money for the club. A big "Thank you!" to her!

After two years of great leadership under Lion Ethan Wray I am honored to have been chosen to fulfill the duties and commitments of the position of President of our club. We have a history of great leadership and I hope to continue that tradition.

Lion Ethan did a great job at accomplishing his mission to help our local members feel valued by the club. One of my two major goals for the next year is to help our local members understand more about Lions Club International and the inner workings of Lions Club. While this may be old hat to some of our long-time members, it will be helpful for our newer members to understand how our club works hand in hand with other clubs around the world to accomplish the global goals of Lions International.

The current goal of LCI is called "Mission 1.5". This mission is to grow our global membership to 1.5 million Lions. The more Lions worldwide the more we can accomplish and the more we can serve. This goal aligns with my second major goal for this upcoming year; which is to increase our membership and reclaim our title as the largest club in our multiple districts.

Goals without plans are just dreams, so we will determine some concrete steps and plans to accomplish these two goals at our strategic planning session for this Club year. This meeting is planned for July 17th at 5:00pm at the Salvation Army. This meeting is open to all club members to attend.

Best Regards,
Lion Brad
