Howdy Lions,
We’re fresh off the trail from the MD-36 State Convention in Pendleton, OR (May 15–18)—and what a weekend it was! Lions from across the state gathered for a whirlwind of service, camaraderie, and celebration, all set against the charming backdrop of Oregon’s wild west.
Here are just a few of the incredible moments we shared:
🏕️ OLSHF was proud to be represented by 9 team members, each highlighting a different piece of the vital work we do for sight and hearing across the state.
| | 🦁 OLSHF proudly recognized Tim McGlothlin of The Dalles Lions Club as our 2025 Volunteer of the Year for his outstanding dedication — from coordinating screening volunteers across The Dalles, Dufur, and Maupin with seamless efficiency, to being a go-to resource for tech support and accessibility solutions like Hearing LOOP systems. Tim’s enthusiasm, reliability, and generous spirit make a lasting impact on our mission and the Lions community. | | | | | 🧤 Lions brought in boxes of used eyeglasses to be sorted and recycled, continuing our mission of restoring vision worldwide. | | | | |
💰 At the Parade of Checks on Friday, Lions Clubs showed immense generosity, raising $11,500+ (insert final amount) in support of OLSHF’s sight & hearing programs. Every dollar raised helps screen, treat, save, and restore vision and hearing for Oregonians in need.
