Hello My Fellow Lions!

I was happy to see most of you in person today, we had great attendance. For those Lions who were unable to attend we had a great meeting. Today is Lion Carolyn Layson's birthday, and we have never sung better. Lion Lori Stiles won the 50/50 and graciously donated it to the 100 year project. Lion Rena Hunley has some wonderful winter hats for sale, and Lion Lori has 100 year pins. If you want a hat or a pin, but cannot make it to the meetings, just let me know and I will arrange bringing the item to you. Offer not valid for Lion Jim Youtsey, Lion Dick LaFever, or the Delorosas. 

Lion Patti shared with us that "Dancing With the Gorge Stars" is returning for another wonderful season. Information is here. TL;DR :

Lion Bill Hamilton is looking for at least two more volunteers to drive folks during the Christmas Tree Pickup on the 10th.

Do we have a Lion that has any information on the annual Polar Plunge? If so, please let me know so I can try to arrange our participation again this year.

Our guest speaker today was Rod Runyon. Mr. Runyon shared with the club his experience supporting veterans throughout his life. One such example being helping the Veterans Service Office move to a building site that was much more accessible. He also shared his experience riding with the "Patriot Guard Riders", whose website is here. 

Lion Dale Rollins, who serves as a Chaplain at the Veteran's Home, reminded us that they have a "Coffee Break" open visitation time at 0900 during the week. I may be wrong about the hours, please correct me if I am wrong.

Our board meeting for this month has been adjusted to better fit with our speaker schedule, so will be at Casa El Mirador on Thursday, January 15th at noon.
