Building Momentum

Lions Of MD36, as we approach the final stretch of our Lions year 2025/2026.

We have an important challenge in front of us. Within the next two months we have a focus on membership growth and retention in our clubs. If we can do so we can achieve a positive net gain and finish the year stronger than we began.

This isn’t about any complicated plans, but it is about action from each one of us as Lions in every club in MD36.

ON MEMBERSHIP

We know that one of the best ways to get a new Lion is to ask. As I’ve said many times if we don’t ask, we will never know.

We can ask our friends, our neighbors, our grocery clerk, anyone to join us for a service project. Let them see what we do and the difference we make when we do it. I really do not know many people who don’t want to make a difference where they live. First impressions count and when they see us working together and helping our community it’s something they will want to be part of.

RETENTION

Retention begins with involvement. Encourage every member to take part in our service projects, in our leadership development with our fellowship. I can tell you if a member feels included, know they are being heard and needed and know they are making a real difference they will want to stay.

What about those members we have not seen for a while? Reach out to them and let them know they are missed and if they need a ride you’ll pick them up and bring them.

POSITIVE ENERGY BUILDS MOMENTUM

If every club would just add a couple of new members and we encouraged and involved our lions in MD36 we could achieve a positive net gain by Lions year end. Together we can make that happen. Thank you for all you do for your community and for each other.
