On behalf of the concessions committee I would like to Thank Everyone that showed up to work.  We had a great group of Lions this weekend & it sure helped out.  We even had a couple of Lions that came back when we were loading up to help & it didn’t take any time at all.  THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE

Thank you everyone for putting up with my bossy controlling self..... you ALL did a great job even if we didnt have alot for some of you to do it really makes difference when we all show up  to do the job everyone did a part in making things run very smoothly. We are a well oiled machine and with ALL of us and I mean ALL we can get it done. I am so very proud to be part of this wonderful group of people. We do make a difference in the world. I heard many people thank us for being there and wish that every swim meet that they go to would have us there. 

Again Thank for putting up with me❤️😘😘

Debra and I sat at the Lions Handout table, never leaving our ‘station’ the entire shift.  Deb became bored not handing out enough so she took 2-3 dozen info pamphlets and walked through the top-up tent area and handed all those out!  She is a go getter and now you all know what I have to live with, one tough cookie she is.  She gets the job done.

But I’m not really replying to talk about her but I’m here to say how strong our local Lions chapter truly is the way we all came together!  Our ‘Group’ is one ‘Bunch’ of tough cookies.  It’s my honor to be associated with you all!

On my three hour shift I had two very interested people in Lyons one from Ellensburg and one from Yakima.

Both ladies took pamphlets and one in particular from Yakima had never been to The Dalles and so we gave her a verbal tour of the town pointing out things that she might do when their free time Chris and I enjoyed the interaction. Chris got bored and went over and helped flip a few burgersgreat time for all Bill Hamilton.

Thought I would share a powerful testimony from a Swim Mom.   I chatted with this lady from Sandy who shared a heartwarming story when she was a youngster in elementary school. She was experiencing  headaches

and her parents realized she had sight problems and The Lions came to their rescue as they were struggling financially and created the way to have her first pair of glasses. She loved to read and this gift allowed her to continue her passion for reading.   Her first words were  “  Wow,  there are leaves on the tree and they are green”   . Needless to say it brought tears to my eyes.
