Watching the Office… Michael Scott is taking credit for Pam and Jim just like Word Brooklyn and The Tank NYC are taking credit for me and my guy being together. Sure. This just means you’ll need to serve as relationship counselors when we get scared of intimacy and freak out and run to you for reassurance, k? K.
So, I skipped Humpus-ing yesterday because Stephen skipped Rumpus-ing but now it’s Humpus time and here’s what happened this weekend.
Please keep in mind that I’ve had 2 Negronis.
Please keep in mind that a Negroni is all alcohol. Here, Alberta will explain: http://www.onnetworks.com/videos/cocktails-on-the-fly-holiday-mix/negroni?autoplay=true
Anywhohow.
Friday night I saw ADULT. on a boat with a group of friends. I was pretty wiped out from the week and it was cold and there was an art fair going on in the same space with some creepycreepy art. It was cold. And loud. And fun and crazy. Afterwards Russ and I were tired and hungry and drunk on booze we’d brought to the show and then we went to Astoria where Russ lives and ate from the taco truck which was amaaaazing. I’ve missed that taco truck. Soooo good and only open way late at night. My kinda people.
Saturday we ate at Bare Burger (www.bareburger.com) which was also amazing and they were super awesome and made it easy for gluten-free me to get a burger with no bun…mmmeat. Then we went to just south to Greenpoint, Brooklyn to my neighborhood to computer outsde at Champion coffee… although the outside bit didn’t last that long since it’s still March and it was after 4 by the time we finally sat down outside again. But we crushed it. And then we went home and had a snack and Russ went out with friends and I went out with a friend who told me all about a good date she had with a guy she met on okcupid (yay) and then Russ was asleep when I got home. Aw.
Then Sunday we had brunch with my friends Somjen and Zil at Buttermilk Channel which was also super-amazing. We’re going back soon and I’m going to get the porkchops and cheddar waffles and eat the whole damn thing. Even though I’m trying to be mostly gluten free… I mean, they’re cheddar waffles! Come on! Also Somjen and Zil liked my boyfriend and that made me superhappy.
Then we headed to the city (may have taken the wrong train at first, whatevs we drank at brunch) and saw Alice in Wonderland in 3D IMAX… weird, fun, pretty. I felt floaty for a couple hours afterwards. I have a thing for Alice; I collect copies. It’s in the public domain, anyone can publish it, and they do, and that’s pretty awesome. Also in different languages… I have about 18 copies, I think? I wont spoil it for anyone but, I like that it wasn’t a straight adaptation of the Alice story. That’s been done. It wasn’t earth-shattering, but it was fun. ALSO 3D!
Then we tried to have SLAM (my bi-mothly playwriting competition at The Tank) but no one came because the actors and writers were all watching the Oscars, so we went home and bought whiskey and did the same. And I made nachos.
Then Monday was back to the grind, and no one wants to hear about that. Monday night Russ and I broke the internet wide open with a secret and hilarious plan… ok it’s @andrewwkkidz on twitter. Shhhh. That kid’s gonna get more followers than me in his first 3 days on the internet than I ever will. Sigh.
Stuff on the internet!
If you like dogs wearing glasses (and I do): www.hipsterpuppies.tumblr.com the French bulldog with the typewriter belongs to the guy I went out with when I was 13 (awww).
