Blah blah on a plane to Austin blah blah I’m already so over #sxsw (the # is instinctual by this point) and I’m tired from traveling and need to get my energy back up for taco eating and running around for the next 3 days. I’m excited but I feel like the mythos of #sxsw is part of my cynicism… the whole omg-epic-party-awesome-wish-you-were-here elitism and I’m kinda thrilled to be going to this crazy 4-day music-party-bender but I also acknowledge that if I weren’t going I’d be SO VERY VERY OVER IT very publicly on the internet. As it is, I’m following @SXSWfreeNOMS and getting more jealous of the people getting free tacos and margaritas than the people seeing unknown-band-that’s-going-to-be-so-big-this-year-no-really.
Observing the tech/media part of #sxsw via all my social media outlets was probably just as good as being there. Twitter is still twitter. Foursquare has won me over but I still don’t understand what you can do with all your points. To quote Paula Poundstone, I’m mayor of funkytown.
Last year I was just getting to know someone who is now a
good friend and we were geeking out about crossword puzzles and he told me
about the clue that provoked his ire more than any other. 4 letter word for crunchy sandwich. Please send in your guesses.
