August - working or not?

I am prompted by a new Salon member joining us today as well as a
burst of consulting activity to ask: "Are other nonprofits working in
August?"

The NYT tells us that people are taking more frequent but shorter
vacations. Are nonprofit folk starting new projects in August or just
coasting till September "Back to School" gets their engines running
again? Or is everyone but me at the beach? Love to hear from you.
Perhaps no-one is around to read this!
