The huamn brian is scuh a fanicsatnig tnhig. It can rewire itself, by
default looks for shortcuts to process information and it creates a
consciousness. I took a public speaking class at University many
years ago. We saw this video of a man who could talk extremely fast
but clearly. We did not lose track of what he said and retention was
high. But what is happening now with so much information overload?
Obviously being concise and emotionally attaching means a lot. The
written work and the spoken work attached to arresting visuals will
get the most information across in the most efficient manner.

You make a good point about context. You could understand the fast-
talking man because he was the only one talking, and we could read
Michael's posting because we got the gist from the rest of the
sentence. Sadly, the world is not like that most of the time - most
of us will not put in the effort, when there's another competing
message that's easier to get.

I read that advertisers are looking at their tv spots in fast-forward
to see if they still communicate, because so many people see them that
way. An arresting visual, as you say, a demonstration of something
that we actually want, or a story that has emotional resonance are
more important than ever.
