Is it time for our religious scholars to evolve or they should stick to the fundamentals?

We will Inshallah present the findings of this survey to respected scholars once the number of respondents will reach to a reasonable size (500 will do, 1000 will be best) ... and for that matter, your participation in this survey can eventually bring revolutionary changes among Islamic Scholars and Ulema's only because this would be first time some one will ever attempt to presented this kind of scientifically analyzed feedback about their influence and perceptions the general public have about them.

Here we are actually talking about individuals with religious credentials including from the top notch scholars, muftis to the ordinary Imam of a small mosque in a remote village.

How frequently you get a chance to have a one on one discussion (like in case u have some questions against which u seek answers) with any individual with religious credentials (Imam of Masjid, Mufti, Scholars etc)? *

•  Every day
•  Once a week

If your answer is 'Never' then what reason would you like to give in this regards:

•  I often check Internet or ask my peers in case there be a need.
•  It is useless to go to scholars as it is difficult to explain them your problem and understand their answer, which is also quite irrelevant.
•  I am not a religious minded person, therefore I don't feel the need.
•  Most of the Mullah's are corrupt, therefore its is useless to go and as any thing from.
•  I have other important things to do.
•  I am a religious scholar, mufti etc myself, and people come to me for advice

Once there be a need to consult any such individual like Imam of Masjid, scholar or Mufti sb etc, then how often do you think that your problem is solved? *

•  Everytime i go to them.
•  quite often, only a few times i wasn't satisfied.

How would you classify those individual like Imam of Masjid, scholar or Mufti sb etc with whom you have had personally interected up-til now? *

•  They are like companions of the Holy Prophet (SAW).
•  V. good Human beings, well groomed, a lot better then ordinary Muslims.
•  They are like you and me.
•  I am a better human being then most of them.

If your answer is 'Corrupt' in the last question then please tell us in your opinion ... :

•  All Mullahs / Molvis are corrupt
•  Most of them are corrupt, the pious ones not accessible to most.
•  Some are corrupt, some are illiterate, the rest are hard to find.
•  I was unlucky to have encountered a corrupt one. But most of them are pious and exemplary Muslims.

Do you remember what was discussed in the last Friday's sermon? *

What is your opinion about the Friday sermon, in general? *

•  Its purpose is to revive the religious spirit of Muslim Ummah.
•  or To make each individual a better human being and Muslim.
•  or To waste time and opportunity by discussing irrelevant issues.
•  or To collect donations.
•  or To take the world 1400 years back.

A lots of Islamic Scholars are seen on television these days. In your opinion what do they really want? *

•  They are their in the best interest of Muslims Ummah and to preach Islam and related things.
•  Most of them are there for the betterment of Muslims, but only a few are there for getting famous or for any other sinister agenda.
•  Some of them are sincere, some are there for fame, and some are agents with a purpose to distort Islam.
•  Only a fraction of them are there for the betterment of people where as most of them are there only for fame or are agents of non-Muslims.
•  The real scholars don't come on TV.

Do you think you would ever be able to find a Role Model in any of the religious individuals / scholars / Mufti etc? *

•  I already have one.
•  Yes definitely.

Only if you think that all individuals with religious credentials (Imams of Masjids, Scholars, Muftis etc) are humans with shortcomings, then to what extent they need to improve on the following? *

		Yes, definitely, absolutely	Yes to some extent	May be a little	No, not at all	This is not a short coming rather a quality, stupid!
Improve their communication skills, learn English, slang's etc.
Improve understanding about the contemporary problems, so as to improve the quality of solutions they provide.
Should Do what they say, practice what they preach themselves.
Accept the modern reality and stop thinking about taking the world or Pakistan 1400 year back.
Stop thinking that its just them who are pious and the rest are all corrupt.
Identify and eliminate the corrupt ones among themselves.
Stop supporting the extremist elements in society.
