Dear Friends,
We keep hearing the common man talking of the 'rotten' system, talking of the corruption, talking of the 'big, bad world' of politics and so on. However, we seldom have the common man walking the talk. 26/11 seems to have changed this. Not only did the talking increase, but, many distinguished citizens of Mumbai have come forwarded to get counted.
My dad, Dr Sailen Ghosh, a distinguished scientist retired from Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC) and a noted social worker, has decided to take the plunge and contest the forthcoming Parliamentary Elections from the Mumbai South Central Constituency (Antop Hill, Chembur, Chuna Bhati, Dadar, Dharavi, Elphinstone Road, Govandi, GTB Nagar, King Circle, Mahim, Mankhurd, Matunga, Naigaum, Parel, Prabhadevi, Sion, Tilak Nagar, Trombay, Wadala). He is standing as an Independent, with the view of bringing in a change in the system by becoming a part of the democratic parliamentary process.
We do not have either the money power or the human resource back-up that the established registered parties have. So, our main medium of communicating with the masses is via the internet and via the print and electronic media.
I am attaching my dad's Election Manifesto and a short bio-data of his. I request each one of you to forward this to as many people as you can via email, by word of mouth, by any medium.
Voting is our Right, please Vote Right. We have seen the same faces being elected as our MP, but there seems to be no change on the ground. This is our chance to be a part of the process to bring about a change. I would also like to request each one of you, on behalf of my dad, to vote for his candidature. Give him a chance to prove that the system can be changed and can be changed in a democratic, all inclusive manner.
If any of you need further information, you can either drop me an email, or my dad or can contact him on 9969474239.
Warm regards
Shamik Ghosh. PS: My dad's candidature has been covered in the media. Here are a few links of the same:
