Hi Susan,

It was great connecting with you on Twitter! Hope you're enjoying Minneapolis :) We appreciate you passing this information on to your contacts in Chicago. Please let us know if we can send along anything else!

According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, one in three children in the U.S. are overweight or obese. To help combat this increasing trend, students in the Chicago area will be learning the importance of fitness at a young age through the 9-day Boosterthon program.

The Boosterthon program culminates in a Fun Run event where students are invited to run, on average, 30 to 35 laps to showcase what they have learned about fitness throughout the 9 days. At the Fun Run, parents, educators, students and Boosterthon team members gather to celebrate the much-needed funds raised for the school and the fitness, leadership and character lessons learned throughout the program.

We would love to invite you out to the Boosterthon Fun Run on Dec. 11 at Ardmore Elementary. We are happy to set up interviews with PTA members, principals and/or Boosterthon representatives who can speak on the impact the Boosterthon program is having in the Chicago community.

Would you be interested in highlighting these students who are learning the importance of fitness at an early age through Boosterthon?

I have attached a press release to provide additional information.

Thanks so much!

Best,
Claire
