Update

So, the group email move got me thinking—it's been a while since I've updated the group on what I'm up to.

The big news from me is I'm going to be leaving academia at the end of the semester. I'm currently at the University of Wisconsin (Madison), but at the end of the semester I will be moving to California to take a job at Google. I'm really excited about it. Google is supposed to be a really fun place to work, and the team I'm going to be working with is tackling some interesting problems, basically coming up with algorithms to detect fraud against Google. I'm also looking forward to living in the Bay Area - I have some friends in San Francisco, and SF is definitely a cool city to hang out in.

That sounds amazing - a big congratulations to you! San Francisco is definitely a fun city, and I hear that working at Google you get more perks than a cruise ship. Chef cooked lunches, free haircuts, subsidized massage, onsite laundry - livin the life of Riley, you'll be! :)

Anyway, I'm sure I speak for everyone when we say congratulations and we're proud of you! And hurrah for living in yet another fun place I can come visit. :)
