It’s fun to see this get going again. After checking out the FB version, I just wasn’t attracted to it and never went there again.

I’m still playing but very little bass. I developed ergonomic problems after sitting at the computer most of my career in engineering & tech writing. I am retired now.

I rehabbed my hands by completely changing course toward the end of my working life. I did luthiery, something hands are made to do. Played a little upright a few days ago at a jam and thoroughly enjoyed it…. And without pain.

I’m having a lot of fun playing Appalachian old time on a fretless banjo and I’m able to play Travis style guitar again. I’ve held into my basses & amps. Bass is my first love and I’m staying open to the right opportunity.

Cheers: Steve

Hey People!

I'm still here, and thanks to everyone for replying.

My turn. COVID meant no playing out or with others for quite a while,
unfortunately!

I did sub in a big band a few weeks ago as my first journey into the real
(post COVID) world, had a blast, great group of people!

Now I am starting rehearsals for "RENT" in a nearby town (Uxbridge for those
who reside in Ontario) and looking forward to it!

I plan on selling my Yorkville 15" 100W combo amp as the thing weighs 41 lbs
and I'm getting old! Plan on purchasing a Fender Rumble 100 at 22 lbs (same
weight as my 50W 10" Yorkville combo).

That Yorkville equipment is so reliable, loud, great tone and bullet proof.
I was told they were designed to rent out, so were made extra tough, and
they did accomplish toughness!

Also plan on selling my 1969 Traynor Custom Special that I've had since
1970, already have a very light weight EA i-amp 800, great amp (since I
could not find or purchase a 1200 Watt Walter Woods amp).

Hope everyone is happy and healthy, glad to hear from TRK as well!

Regards,

Thanks all,
To clarify, this will not be flying and will ride in a truck. I’m between
something Chadwick style or a plywood in a case. I’m excited to have a
reason to reach out. I’ll keep y’all posted on the results.

It *is* nice to hear that so many of you are still here. I joined TBL
somewhere around 1990, maybe earlier even. Maybe the neatest thing that
happened to me here was that I bought one of the very first SVR
Workingman's 12 combos, and discovered that the built-in compressor/limiter
made it unusable for me. Steve Rabe heard me on TBL and shipped me the very
first defeat switch for WM12 ever made, which I installed immediately and
have been using the amp ever since. My feet are resting on it as I type
this.

I don't really play in bands any more, although I have had a couple of
little jazz quartets over the past 20 years or so. I still own the 1978
Precision I bought new as a kid (although the lacquer has been peeling off
for decades and I don't play it much), and for a long time my main bass
was/is a Warwick fretless 4 string. I bought myself a brand new Martin
HD-28 the other day, it's the nicest guitar I've ever owned.
