Larry Fukui from Grand Junction, Colorado. The arthritis in my hands is getting worse and have not been doing much playing much less gigging. I have enjoyed reading everyone’s posts over the decades.

I am still here also. Still living in the frozen North that is Minnesota.

I am playing in a couple bands, the New Riverside Ramblers, straight Cajun and the Swamp Poppas playing, of course, Swamp Pop. SP is a style of Louisiana music where kinds who grew up playing in Cajun and Creole families discover Rock'n'Roll. Also occasional subbing in Blues and Rock bands.

I am retired from the IT day job and my new project is to see if I can make an Acoustic bass guitar. I have one of the last Earthwood Basses out of the factory. I am getting ideas from that and a few other acoustic bass guitars. I am not at "Olde World Craftsman" level yet. I take heart from the stories of Ernie Ball and Tom Fullerton problem solving the bellying up behind the bridge on the original Earthwoods. Their solution, glue on popsicle sticks they had laying around until it stopped bending. I am capable of that level of engineering.

I love my Earthwood because it will play loud enough to keep up with acoustic groups like Cajun, Bluegrass and Old time, without amplification. I figure I will see what modern bracing and construction techniques will do to the tone. So I am looking forward to years of playing in my shop.

Great to hear where everyone is at. I was very sad to hear of the passing of Bob Golihur. I never made it to his shop but sure learned a lot from him.
