It *is* nice to hear that so many of you are still here. I joined TBL somewhere around 1990, maybe earlier even. Maybe the neatest thing that happened to me here was that I bought one of the very first SVR Workingman's 12 combos, and discovered that the built-in compressor/limiter made it unusable for me. Steve Rabe heard me on TBL and shipped me the very first defeat switch for WM12 ever made, which I installed immediately and have been using the amp ever since. My feet are resting on it as I type this.

I don't really play in bands any more, although I have had a couple of little jazz quartets over the past 20 years or so. I still own the 1978 Precision I bought new as a kid (although the lacquer has been peeling off for decades and I don't play it much), and for a long time my main bass was/is a Warwick fretless 4 string. I bought myself a brand new Martin HD-28 the other day, it's the nicest guitar I've ever owned.
