to The Book of Mormon in the Classical Historywriting
MOSIAH 6,7,8 Is paralleled in classical history as: Mithridates 6 of
Pontus translates for Mithridates I of Parthia the records of Xerxes
II

Taking the "promised land" in 1 Nephi 18:23 for Canaan or Israel we
can trace all the events in the BoM to events happening on the same
dates in classical history books.

Lehi becomes Jeremiah, Nephi the captain of Necho, The land Nephi
Pontus. The biggest king, with Gods gift for languages, who united
two
kingdoms Mosiah happens to be Mithridates 6 of Pontus, who spoke 25
languages fluently, annexed the Crimea and made an pact with the
Scythes

Omni 1:20 And it came to pass in the days of Mosiah, there was a
large stone brought unto him with engravings on it; and he did
interpret the engravings by the gift and power of God.

Mosiah 8:13 Now Ammon said unto him: I can assuredly tell thee, O
king,
of a man that can translate the records; for he has wherewith that
he
can look, and translate all records that are of ancient date;and it
is
a gift from God. And the things are called interpreters, and no man
can
look in them except he be commanded, lest he should look for that he
ought not and he should perish. And whosoever is commanded to look in
them, the same is called seer.

8:14 And behold, the king of the people who are in the land of
Zarahemla is the man that is commanded to do these things, and who
has
this high gift from God.

So we are in 120 BC, the time that Mithridates 6 became king of
Pontus
after he had spent his youth between the sheppards.

In Mosiah 7 this new king starts the search for the land of Lehi/
Nephi,
but his armies got lost and met in another country Nephites/Jews, who
departed 80 years earlier under Zeniff.

Curious is the name Lehi/Nephi. The land of Lehi was in this
understanding of the BoM, the landfall of Lehi, Lycia in South west
Turkey, while the land Nephi Pontus was in North Turkey, where Nephi
came after crossing the dessert.

So the land Lehi/Nephi could be the Anatolian highlands

Zarahemlah/Khazaria was the area between the river Sidon/Don and
Crimea
to the Black Sea. Pontus was south of the Black Sea. The soldiers of
Mosiah went from Pontus in the wrong direction and came in a land
called Shilom.

If you wanted to go by land from above the black sea to a land under
the black sea and you would get lost in the wilderness and not into
the
mountains , means that you walked north of the Caucasian until the
Caspian Sea, at that time 120 BC under control of the Parthians under
Mithridates I a Scythe tribe called the Parni's.

In Mosiah 8 they met in the land Shilom a king Limhi, a descendant of
Jews under Zeniff, who departed out of Zarahemlah (Scythia) Around
200-100 BC
Limhi was paying tribute to a mean sneaky king Laman. Looking on
the
historical maps of the area around the Caspian Sea 300-200bC where
the
Parthians freed themselves from the Greeks, we could say, that weare
dealing with the Parthians under Mithridates I, Limhi.

Zeniff than could be the founder of the Parthian empire Arsaces I

The Parthian kings, who from 200bC to 200aC were the great
competitors
of the Romans in the middle east considered themselves the successors
of the Persian kings Darius and Xerxes.
They re-introduced the Zoroastrism again as the state religion, but
were surprising tolerant of the Jewish religion, which spread wide
throughout their empire.
Many towns had a Jewish government.

This fixation on the Persian kings we find in Mosiah 8:8

8 And they were lost in the wilderness for the space of a many
days,yet
they were diligent, and found not the land of Zarahemla but returned
to
this land, having traveled in a land among many waters, having
discovered a land which was covered with bones of men, and of beasts,
and was also covered with ruins of buildings of every kind, having
discovered a land which had been peopled with a people who were as
numerous as the hosts of Israel.

9 And for a testimony that the things that they had said are true
they
have brought a twenty-four plates which are filled with engravings,
and
they are of pure gold.

If Limhi was the Parthean king Mithridates II, and Shilom Parthia,
then
the Parthians had found the golden records of the mighty Persian
kings
Cyrus, Darius and Xerxes, who engraved their big deeds in rock
inscriptions and engravings on golden plates (now in the museum),
while
the skeletons possibly are the the remains of their failed
expeditions
of millions of soldiers.

I have posted already the identification of king Coreantumr, in the
book of Ether as Xerxes II

Limhi/Mithridates II the Parth, a Scyth, could not read nor translate
these Persian inscriptions and brought them therefore to Mosiah/
Mithridates 6 of Pontus, a famous speaker of 25 tongues.

Mos. 8:14 And behold, the king of the people who are in the land
of
Zarahemla is the man that is commanded to do these things, and whohas
this high gift from God. (121vC)

Do you see the immense importance of these verses ? While historians
doubt whether the Parths ever were the allies of Pontus in their
battles against the Romans, the BoM shows that Mithridates 6 of
Pontus,
120-64bC, himself a direct descendent of the Persian kings,
translated
the Persian records of Xerxes for Mithridate I of Parthia (124-87)
