Then we encourage you to APPLY TO HARVARD UNDERGRADUATE TELEVISION'S (HUTV) 2014-2015 EXECUTIVE BOARD

It's been an exciting year of growth and institutional change for HUTV, and we are looking for new, excited individuals to continue and expand our mission. We would like to encourage anyone who is interested in media or entertainment to apply -- it's a very exciting time to be a part of the organization. So, if you think you could be an innovative and committed member of our team, please fill out and submit the attached application. We look forward to reading your responses! Below you will find descriptions of open board positions:

  • President: The President of HUTV leads meetings,  coordinates day-to-day tasks, liaises between board members, and ensures that everyone is staying on task. The President interacts with board members one-on-one periodically and aids the development of new ideas. He or she is the main delegator; approves and makes recommendation regarding individual board member’s projects,  and looks at both long and short-term visions/goals.
  • VP Business & FinanceThe HUTV Business & Finance Division is responsible for creating and balancing budgets for HUTV departments (and working with SMMAD VP to budget for shows); managing reimbursements; initiating and maintaining relationships with show executive producers, advertisers, and other financial contributors of HUTV; applying for grants; and exploring sponsorship opportunities.
  • VP of Member Recruitment/Comp Director: The Member Recruitment Division is responsible for outreach to potential new members. This is the point person for answering questions from interested students. This person will lead the comp process and work to streamline how new members become part of HUTV; handles publicity for the comp process; makes sure that associates have set duties for the semester, and keeps track if associates drop out/do not complete their duties.
  • VP of Show Management, Marketing, and Audience Development (SMMAD): The HUTV Show Management & Marketing Division is responsible for not only facilitating discussion with, but also reaching out to the on-campus shows; assisting in the distribution of resources to shows, specifically equipment; in addition to social media for HUTV, itself, the SMMAD VP is responsible for working to publicize other HUTV shows. It is also the job of the SMMAD VP to analyze the current HUTV audience, assess what that audience likes/doesn't like, and program marketing and media appropriately.
  • VP Publicity & Online Strategy: The HUTV VP of Publicity and Online strategy updates, maintains, and improves the website; understands (or learns) analytics to help with social media; works with SMMAD to improve social media; publicizes all events, which includes Facebook events, postering, and graphic design for advertising the different events. Helps to publicize the comp process with the VP of Membership.
  • Film Festival Liaison: The Film Festival Liaison will be responsible for managing the relationship between HUTV and The Harvard College Film Festival (HCFF). This person will sit on both the HUTV and HCFF boards. This person will update HUTV board on festival progress, organizes formal relationship/sponsorship level of HUTV for festival, creates opportunities for special HUTV involvement in festival, updates festival board on HUTV happenings, helps to organize pre-festival events in conjunction with HUTV. The HUTV Business & Finance Division is responsible for creating and balancing budgets for HUTV departments (and working with SMMAD VP to budget for shows); managing reimbursements; initiating and maintaining relationships with show executive producers, advertisers, and other financial contributors of HUTV; applying for grants; and exploring sponsorship opportunities.
  • VP of Harvardwood and Events: The VP of Harvardwood and Events is responsible for liaising with alumni across the country. This person will work to set up regular speaker series, panels, film screenings and networking mixers; Create a timeline for these events at the start of the year. Work with OCS to help with publicity/locations/finding speakers. Work with Publicity chair in order to publicize events. Organize social events to strengthen the HUTV community.
