I just bought "Chaos" yesterday. It's certainly an improvement over his last record, "Driving Rain", but I wasn't surprised when the breathless hype that surrounded his supposed "best solo album in years" failed live up to my first listen. Not that it isn't an album I could grow to enjoy more and more with each listen. And there are certainly songs on "Chaos" that are welcome additions to his resume, but the best songs on the album "Fine Line", "Promise to You" and "Jenny Wren", are the three that harken back the most to his classic pop sense.
