Hey Hammerheads:

We'll time is flying by and it's looking like December 21st is winning in the polls. Of course there is some voter fraud going on with approx 46 folks registered and (at last count) 65 votes for the date. Regardless, Dec 21 is winning by a very slight margin to January 18.

Date Preference

December 14 15% (10 votes)
December 21 35% (23 votes)
December 28 18% (12 votes)
January 18 32% (21 votes)
Total votes: 66

Not sure what we should do about that little issue but the polls close soon.

As for the Sag support voting, that seems to be going the way of a self-sag and quicker stop at the halfway point. Cheaper on all and easier on the support folks, but I'll need some input on the kinds of hydration and snacks people would like to have 56-miles in. Gels, bars, fruit, trail-mix, etc., will be available at each regroup and the halfway point.

Halfway Sag

Just Fruit, Snacks, Hydration, etc. 63% (20 votes)
Full Lunch, Sandwiches, etc. 38% (12 votes)
Total votes: 32

We'll need to pull the trigger on the date by the end of the this weekend, Sunday night. It may require another quick poll, we'll see.

One issue I see right now is the lack of support registrations. Last year we had a good showing there but many were hampered by crash issues and taking care of the unfortunate victims of the various crashes. Not a fun day for either party involved. Anyway, we really need a few more cars and people to volunteer for support. We need help on the road, at the start, at the halfway point, and to help getting the post-ride festivities going. Please ask all your cycling buds if they'd like to help and get them signed-up, ASAP.

We can do this with just one support vehicle, but it's a whole lot more fun for everybody if we have at least four or five. The more, the better, of course.

Okay, that's all for now. Looking forward to seeing some of you out on the road as we prepare for this way cool ride.

Okay, shut-up and ride!

Steve
