Welcome to the middle of winter.  I hope the snow goes away soon and we can get to spring!  We have some classes coming up to help with those winter blues.  

There is a new free pattern on the website-an Easter basket designed by one of our night students, Laura.  She wanted a BIG basket for her adult children as she likes to give them lots of Easter stuff.  I really like the simplicity of the dyed spokes with the natural weavers.  The basket can be made smaller by changing the number or size of the spokes.  If you make the basket, send a picture so we can see what your basket looks like!

For all you Grandmas and new moms out there, we are offering several Easter basket classes in March.  There are several offered on the website ranging in price from $28 to $65.  If you have another style in mind, or need special colors, let me know and we will come up with something for you.  Classes will be Thursday March 4 and 18 from 6pm-10pm and Saturday March 6 and 20 from 10am to 2pm.  

An Herb basket will be offered on Saturday April 17 from 10am-2pm.  This is a narrow basket that can hold 3 potted plants-herbs or flowers.  It has a very simple twill weave up the sides-a good project to learn a twill if you have never done one.  Cost for this basket is $25.

Saturday May 15 there will be a Casserole Carrier basket.  This will hold a 9 x 13 pan for taking all your dishes to open houses or other summer get together's.  We are still working out final plans for this basket, so check the website for more information.

Another summery basket will be our Flag basket on Saturday June 5 from 10am-2pm.  This is a nice basket to put on your door to show your patriotism.  This is a good beginner basket.  Cost is $25.

There are several kids basket classes scheduled as well.  These classes are best for kids 7 and up, although kids at least 5 can make the pencil style basket with no problems.

Spring Break Basket Class:  Thursday and Friday April 8 and 9.  Class times are either 10am -noon or 1pm - 3pm.  Cost is $12 for baskets from our kids collection.

Easter Basket class  Saturday April 20, 10am-2pm .  This would make a good class to make an adult/child class.  Each can make a simple style basket for $12.

Mother’s Day Basket with gift  Saturday May 1, 10am - 1pm.  Kids will make a simple pencil basket, with a small gift and gift wrap it.  This will be a good class for dads to come and make a basket with the kids.  Cost $12

If anyone is involved in a youth group, church group or organization, we are able to supply kits at a bulk rate, or we can come to your group for a class.  Give Kathy a call and let her know what you need!  In addition to baskets, we can also do German stars and Ukrainian Eggs as a group class.
