Spring has been very busy at The Basket Sampler. We had a lot of
classes in April and tried to get some baskets woven for the
showroom. Here is a little bit of what we will be doing in May:
Start off the first weekend with the 8th annual Black Sheep Weavers
Spring Fling. This is just in time for Mother's Day. There will be
lots of great thing available including yarns, felted items, purses,
quilts and of course baskets! It will be held on Friday May 4 from
4pm-8pm and Saturday from 9am-4pm. The sale will be located at the
Hartland Education Support Service Center (old Hartland High School)
at 9525 E Highland Road (M-59), Howell, MI. It is just west of the
intersection of M-59 and US 23. More information can be found at
http://www.blacksheepweavers.com/Sales.htm
We will be participating in Founders Day In Wixom on Sunday, May 20
from 1-4pm. We will have pencil baskets for the kids to do for $4
each. This is a great place to make them....maybe for end of school
year teacher gifts.
The Association of Michigan Basketmakers convention booklet has
arrived!! It is kind of like getting Christmas in an envelope with
all the class choices. If you didn't get your booklet, make sure
you have paid your dues. It is not too late to join the AMB and be
able to take part in what should be a great convention. More
information can be found on the website
http://www.michiganbasketmakers.com/events.htm
We have had many 4H kids come in to work on baskets and bobbin
lace. Please don't let it get too close to fair time to start your
projects. See the website at
http://www.thebasketsampler.com/class-4h.html
to see what your options are for this years projects.
Hope to see you soon.
