got a questions for the BF vets out there....

it seems my times are slower when switching to BF style of running?
is this due to adjusting to a new cadence and turnover? been running
minimalist for a few months and up to 2.5 miles per run (that is about
when my form gives out so i stop. i overtrained when trying this last
year, trying to be a bit smarter this year.) but my times are def.
slower. any suggestions? or is this just part of the learning
curve.

thanks.

Yeah, I think it's the learning curve.  For me, my stride shortened but my turnover increased.  I think I bring my knees up higher than I did when I was running in shoes.  I'm older and slower now anyway, but I do run 8 or 9 miles at least 2 or 3 times a week.  The best part of the changing to minimalist is the feeling of being closer to the earth, don't you think?  Peace,  Art

It takes 500-1500 miles for the feet to completely become healthy if you did not grow up living barefoot.
If they can not hold form for more than a couple miles they are not healthy yet. Set a goal of at least 12-18 miles barefoot and run both on and off road to activate more neural networks in the feet.

Zina you´re right. I really think you doing the right when you do 8 or 9 miles alt least 2 or 3 times a week. What kind of shoes used in the winter? just a treadmill or light shoes? Otherwise you congratulations on your results, 8.9, miles per day. Yet the question: For what period of time, two hours, three and under. You have the time and space? Pls. Answear, Iveta
