Statement of Account - Sponsorship for 2 Day Hockey Tournament in Madras
on 17 and 18 Feb 2012
Dear Friends
We are advancing to the 16 Feb 2012 deadline for
sponsorship/contributions for the above project. However, it is
observable that the tempo this week has decelerated in comparison to the
first two weeks. Nevertheless, this week we have received a handsome
sum of $200/- from Godfrey Phillips in Sydney and a significant $50/-
from Denzil Ray in Canberra. We still need an amount of $960/- in the
next 10 days to accomplish the target of $5010/-. This could be
achieved by just another one large contribution or about six
intermediate contributions or umpteen small contributions.
Word from AITW sources in Madras affirms that Trevor Vanderputt will
arrive in that city on 14/2 and leave for Calcutta for a week on 19/2.
Les Claudius has been booked on the same flight back to Calcutta with
Trevor. Also, AITW is in the process of organising a Trevor
Vanderputt/Chennai State Media Hockey Press Conference.

Hi Joe,
I have posted you a cheque for $200 to go towards the 2 Day Hockey
tournament in Madras. Trevor Vanderputt is a good mate and will be a
wonderful ambassador for the Anglo Indians. He's been a great
contributor to the game of hockey in India and Australia, and there's
not too many like him around today.
FYI, my son Matthew will be playing for Chandigargh in the World Series
Hockey tournament commencing on the 29th Feb in India. It's a similar
structure to the IPL 20 overs's Cricket. Total prize money is over $2.5M
plus associated bonuses offered by the franchise owners. Charlie Gaudoin
(father of Paul Gaudoin the former Australian hockey Captain and
currently Ast coach of the Aussie Men's hockey team) is Matthew's Ast
coach in this World Series Hockey tournament. Matthew is one of six
Aussies selected to play in the inaugural WSH league.
