Dear Friends
Please refer to Philomena Eaton's message, and attachment above. The
World Reunion of Anglo-Indians "Reunion IX Website" was launched in
Calcutta in July 2011 and has since generated much enthusiasm. It is
progressively updated with supplementary information. Refer to the
venues/history of the venues, costs for overseas guests and home guests,
attendees etc. Reunion IX is shaping up to be the best ever, emulating
Reunion III in Perth in 1995. For Bert Payne in the USA, it would be
his 9th Reunion. Are you aware of anyone else in this top category? If
so, please let me know? Please circulate this message.
Here are some of the outcomes as a consequence of such world Reunions:

Mere observations
* Establishment of the International Federation of Anglo-Indian
Assns
* Establishment of the Australian Anglo-Indian Assn of Canberra
* Birth of the Anglo-Indian Guild in Melbourne (after Reunion IV,
1998 in Bangalore)
* The disbandment of the Rangers Club in Sydney, and the
establishment of the Anglo-Indian Assn of NSW and Australian Residents
Anglo-Indian Assn.
* Establishment of the Anglo-Indian Assn of WA
* Formation of the National Federation of Anglo-Indian
Associations of Australia
* Birth of CTR and other Anglo-Indian charitable organisations in
the USA, Canada, UK Australia
* Books on Anglo-Indians on the increase with leaps and bounds
* Achievements of Anglo-Indians documented especially now in
Australia
* Anglo-Indian stories/achievements recorded for Immigration
(Bridge) Place Australia (permanently archived)
* The further growth/spread of Anglos in the Wind (Calcutta will
be their 6th) and in return AITW has covered Anglo-Indian stories for
one's reading pleasure from every nook and corner of the world,
including regional Anglo-Indian Associations in India, Australia, UK,
USA, Canada etc.) Activities of regional A-I Assns in India (at one
time determined as insignificant) now known very well due to AITW
coverage.
* Assisting the forum of A-I Women in Chennai with strong
financial support for the historical White Ribbon Day Launch in Madras
on 8 March 2010 - International Women's Day Violence against Women.
This, the first of its kind by any organisation in any part of India.

* Neil O'Brien, President-in-Chief of the All-India-Anglo-Indian
Assn (AIAIA) presence at the last three Reunions' Melbourne, Toronto and
Perth have spread the achievements of the AIAIA. The AIAIA has always
been considered as the life line of the Anglo-Indian Community in India.

If one is aware of any more of such outcomes please let me know.
