Does anyone know anything about this amp, model age history, any help much appreciated.

Cool looking amp. Hows the sound?
Have you checked the Vintage Guitar buying guide? They seem to know this stuff.

Is there a model # on the amp chassis near the controls, or inside the amp on the speaker magnet or on a paper label? If you could find the model# or name of the amp, then just Google that model under vintage Gibson amps. Excuse me if you've already gone this route. Sometimes the model # or name is stamped on the amp chassis in ink near the Tube sockets or power cord terminus. Mike
