Okay, this book? Total mind rewire. 💥 I went in thinking it was gonna be dry and technical, but nope—Spaceship Earth 101 hits like a TED Talk with a conscience. Nick Egnatz breaks down the MONEY SYSTEM (yes, all caps) like your cool professor who actually wants you to get it. It made me question everything from my bank account to how we fund roads and fight poverty. If you’ve ever thought “Why is the world like this?!”—this book is your answer (and then some). 🌍💸📚

Author Nick Egnatz has a way with words that breaks complex concepts down easily… Egnatz’s energy and enthusiasm for actionable solutions make this an essential read for anyone concerned about the intersection of climate, inequality, and financial reform, but it’s also a great primer for those who are new to these issues and want to be better informed… Spaceship Earth 101 is a recommended read and a refreshingly solution-oriented read for anyone drowning in the current sea of doomscrolling.

Spaceship Earth 101 is an enlightening read that challenges the way we think about money, government, and our shared future on this planet. Nick Egnatz doesn’t just outline the problems—he offers real, thought-provoking solutions rooted in economic reform and sustainability. I really appreciated how accessible he made such a complex topic, and it gave me a lot to think about in terms of how finance affects everything from climate change to basic human rights. I enjoyed reading it because it made me feel like change is actually possible.
To my local friends in NW Indiana and nearby Illinois, six weeks ago a tiny handful of those of us who for 15 years stood in protest to the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars and the war on the poor and working class here at home, began to publicly protest the Donald Trump assault on our democracy:
Highway of the Flags Veterans Memorial
Every Saturday, noon – 1PM
SE corner Indianapolis Blvd & Ridge Rd.
Highland, IN 46322
We began with a handful, but have joined forces with NW Indiana Indivisible and now get between 50 and 200 plus every week. All standing against the multiple daily attacks on our democracy and way of life. Please, join us when you can every Saturday at noon. We also collect donations of non-perishable food and give it to a different local food pantry each week.
