Newbie looking for advice

Hi - I am incredibly excited about being a part of this race. I am a
newbie to the road. I was at the bike shop this afternoon looking
into a new bike for the occasion and here is what they recommended:

Specialized Dolce x3

Anyone know about this bike and/or have suggestions about the best way
to go?

How exciting to have you on board for the Alaska Ride! Thank you so
much for choosing this rewarding adventure with us! I believe the
model that the bike shop suggests is a good one, but what matters most
is how a bike "fits" you. Were you able to test it and sit on it,
etc? I'm going to ask some of our cyclist experts to get back to me
on what they have been successful with for long distances and I will
pass the information on. Good for you for getting out there to start
training already! Woo hooo!
