I was sent this email from Marcus. I told him I don’t have anything for him but would send it out to the list.

If you are interested, contact him directly via email siregar....@gmail.com or text at (213) 944-9515

He says:

At the moment I am free during the weekdays and weekends. I am looking for a paying job but realize that experience is needed for this type of work, so am willing to start out with volunteer work.

I was forwarded your email from a friend who used to work at The Edible Schoolyard in Berkeley and remember you beekeeping. I expressed to her my deep interest to becoming a beekeeper this spring!

I am currently going through a career transition and I asked myself what I would love to do and learn if given the chance and beekeeping kept coming up when this question was asked. I’ve always been interested in insects and their impact since I was young.

I went to school at Cal State University East Bay and had the privilege of joining the Pollination and Ecology Lab where we focused on hummingbirds in and around the East Bay as well as the Pollinators of the Redwoods.

I was there for 2 years mainly as the Molecular Lab Assistant portion but during the summers I assisted with field studies in the Redwoods where we documented and caught many different insects including bees.

Please let me know if you have any opportunities or know of any apiaries that needs help from someone very interested.
