I am a new member.  I want to ask a question about my foundation, which has become black. Should I change to new foundation? Am I in the right group for asking questions?  Can I post a picture?  Thank you for any advice. - Diana

Love to see pictures of your ugly foundation.   The bees probably consider it avant garde art.

Cheers, Phil

Yes... you CAN post a picture.  Click on the mountain icon at the bottom of your message to do so.  Do you mean the comb (vs. the "foundation") has become black?  If so, that happens naturally as comb gets used for brood making.  The cocoon left behind after a new bee emerges darkens the comb with each brood cycle.

That's dark wax and cocoon remnants from comb built on the yellow foundation and after being used to make brood.  There are ways to clean and reuse plastic foundation.  All take a bit of work.  I'd suggest Googleing and/or searching YouTube on the subject
